THAT’S A WRAP: TKS Motorsports concludes 2025 season with High Limit at Lakeside
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa (October 13, 2025) - For Troy and Tammy Renfro’s TKS Motorsports, the 2025 season is officially complete, and although the stat sheet reflects a trying year for the Mitchellville, Iowa-based open wheel program, there were plenty of shining moments, all of which reflecting hard work, perseverance, and most importantly, a positive attitude.
Capping their year, officially, TKS Motorsports and driver Ian Madsen made the tow to Kansas City, Kansas, joining High Limit Racing in the two-day Heartland of America Showdown at Lakeside Speedway on October 10-11. Despite missing main event competition on Friday, the team rebounded and made the most of their Saturday appearance, battling through the evening’s B-Main before rallying for a 15th-place feature score.
Madsen, who missed a large chunk of his TKS Motorsports assignment due to injury, rolled into Lakeside with a full head of steam, reuniting with the team by scoring a podium in Lee County Speedway’s Hawkeye Nationals featuring POWRi on Saturday, October 4. Madsen’s podium was just one of five top-fives for TKS Motorsports in 2025, ending the year with 11 top-tens total including a pair of runner-up performances at Jackson Motorplex and Knoxville Raceway; the runner-ups occurred in back-to-back weekends.
“An up and down year, for sure, but we’re proud of everyone…more than proud. The team stayed positive and worked hard through every obstacle and that’s more important than any statistic,” Troy Renfro, owner of the TKS Motorsports, Iowa Barnstormers, Des Moines Industrial Products, Webb Family Farms, Landus, Jersey Freeze Ice Cream, AL Driveline, Justice Brothers, Serenity Custom Woodworking, No. 2KS sprint car, said. “To our partners, fans, friends, and everyone else who stepped up to lend a hand this season, we thank you. We’re not exactly sure of our plan for 2026, but we’ll have something put together soon.”
