Hunter Schuerenberg to pilot TKS Motorsports No. 2KS beginning Saturday at Knoxville Raceway
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa (August 21, 2024) - In hopes of tackling a busy late season campaign that will activate with Knoxville Raceway’s Season Championship Night on Saturday, August 24, Troy and Tammy Renfro of TKS Motorsports are pleased to announce that “Hunter Percent” Hunter Schuerenberg is now the man in charge of their Iowa Barnstormers No. 2KS sprint car. The team, based in Mitchellville, Iowa, will measure their progress week to week, assembling a schedule as time progresses.
As noted, the Sikeston, Missouri, native will make his TKS Motorsports debut at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, wheeling in the speedway’s final sprint car program of the year. Certainly no stranger to Knoxville’s four corners, Schuerenberg made his most recent laps in the coveted Knoxville Nationals, qualifying for Saturday’s B-Main before finishing 15th.
Schuerenberg’s highlight reel runs deep, padded with success at the national micro level before transferring his attention to non-wing sprint cars and finally winged sprint cars in 2015.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Hunter Schuerenberg to TKS Motorsports. He’s a talented wheelman and I’m confident in his abilities. I think I speak for everyone when I say we’re excited to get started,” Troy Renfro, owner of the Iowa Barnstormers, Des Moines Industrial Products, Jersey Freeze Ice Cream, AL Driveline, TJ Forged, No. 2KS sprint car, said. “The goal is to head into Knoxville on Saturday with the intent to learn a lot about each other. I’m sure we’ll connect rather quickly.
“I want to thank Kelby Watt for stepping up last minute and driving for us last weekend at Jackson Motorplex,” Renfro added. “He didn’t have a lot of notice, but he did a great job and we’re grateful for that.”
ON DECK:
TKS Motorsports and Hunter Schuerenberg will continue their 2024 campaign with Knoxville Raceway’s season championship on Saturday, August 24.
